Holland College’s Ibrah Sanoh named Player of the Year- CCAA Men’s Soccer
Sanoh, in his final season with the Hurricanes from Conakry, Guinea, led the Hurricanes to a bronze medal at the CCAA National Men’s Soccer Championship in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
At the National Championship, Sanoh would score three goals in four games and be named to the Tournament All-Star team. Earlier in the week he would be named the CCAA Men’s Soccer National Player of the Year, which was the first time a Hurricanes student-athlete had ever received this award across any sport. Sanoh also was named a CCAA All-Canadian for the fourth time while being named the ACAA Player of the Year and a member of the ACAA All-Conference team to cap off a big fall for the star striker.
Sanoh would finish his Hurricanes men’s soccer career with a total of 101 goals, a team record. He is currently studying in the Marketing and Advertising Management Program.
The bronze medal was the second National medal for the Hurricanes men’s soccer team in team history, the first since a silver in 2011. This year’s ACAA Championship was the fourth straight for the ‘Canes and seventh in team history.
