Female Athlete of the Week, Feb. 19, 2019

Sam Lawther
UKC Badminton
3rd Year
BA, Psychology
Charlottetown, PEI

Lawther is a third year player and the female captain of the UKC team.  She has established herself as a force in badminton play, winning 41 out of 42 matches this year.  For the second year in a row,  she has helped lead her team to win the ACAA Championships and has deservedly been named the ACAA Female MVP.  This will be her third trip to the CCAA National Championships, and her second year partnering with UKC's Sam White in the mixed doubles category.  In addition to her success in the ACAA, Lawther will also be competing at the 2019 Canada winter games for Team Prince Edward Island.
