Mystics Punch Ticket to Finals with Win Over STU

In the first semi-final matchup of Saturday's action, the top seeded MSVU Mystics triumphed over the fourth seeded St. Thomas Tommies 81-49.

Five Mystics reached double figures, led by second-team All Conference player Marika Williams and first team All Conference and CCAA All-Canadian, Kate Gallant. The fifth year forwards had 15 points and 14 points, respectively.

MSVU showed why they are the fifth ranked team in Canada right from the opening tip. Controlling the play and running out to a 21-9 lead after one quarter and they never looked back.

The Tommies had a hard time getting their offence rolling against the stifling defence of the Mystics, who forced 33 turnovers in the game.

Third year guard Lainy Dow paced the Tommies with 13 points and 8 rebounds.

The Mystics will face the winner of the Holland Hurricanes and MTA Mounties in the Final on Sunday
