In ACAA womens volleyball action over the weekend the Mounties hosted the HC Hurricanes on Friday and the Universite de Sainte Anne Dragons on Saturday.

The volleyball Mounties won three games consecutively January 11th, 15th and 18th but suffered a loss, three sets to one, to the Hurricanes on Friday, January 24th. The first set the Mounties lost only by 2 points, 27-25, while the second set the Mounties won 25-21 and then they lost to the Hurricanes again in the third and fourth sets; 25-22 and 26-24 respectively. 

In the match, Mounties vs. Hurricanes, volleyball Mountie Sophie Landry of Charlo, NB and Calgary's Jadyn Boyles contributed 10 points a piece plus 6 kills by Landry and 9 kills by Boyles.   Rookie Emilie Botma added 6.5 pts, 2 kills, fourth year Mountie Rachel McDougall added 3.5 pts, Brooke Gillespie 3 pts, 2 kills, Hannah Crouse 1 point, 1 kill,  Meaghan Ernst 2 pts and a kill, while Erin Green added in a deuce (2 pts),1 kill and Marika Wildoboer balanced it out with 1.5 pts and 1 kill.  Holland's Abby Hyndman was high scorer for the match on Friday, with 16 points and 11 kills.

On Saturday, the Mounties hammered the Dragons winning the first three sets, 3-0.  Fourth-year Rachel McDougall led her Mounties with 11 points; while Marika Wildeboer added 8.5 pts and both McDougall and Wildeboer also led the team in kills; 9 by McDougall and 7 for Wildeboer.  Rookie Emilie Botma and second-year Sofia Graziani also contributed to the victory for the Mounties; Botma 6.5 pts, 5 kills and Graziani 4.5 pts.  Meaghan Ernst added 4.5 pts, 2 kills, Anna Manuel 3 pts 2 kills, Jadyn Boyles 6 pts 4 kills, Grace Leech 2 pts 2 kills, and both Sophie Landry and Brooke Gillespie rounded out the attack with 1.5 pts each.

Your Mount Allison women's volleyball Mounties will be headed to Crandall to play on January 31st at 7:00 PM AST.
