Seawolves Advance to Semifinals Following Straight-Set Win Against Rams

Fredericton, NB - The UNBSJ Seawolves took home a dominant 3-0-win vs the Dal Rams in the first quarter-final of the ACAA women's volleyball championships.

In the first set, the Seawolves would find themselves with a commanding 20-10 lead. Even with the big lead, the Rams would not go down without a fight as they would then cut the lead down to five with a score of 21-16. Despite this run by the Rams, the Seawolves would be too much to handle in the back end of the set, allowing them to seal the first set with a score of 25-16.

The start of the second set would prove to be hotly contested with the Seawolves sitting at just a two-point lead, 10-8. Following this, the Seawolves would control the rest of the set netting them a 25-18 win.

In the third set, the Seawolves would continue their trend of staggering runs, holding a 19-8 lead. Even with the large deficit at hand, the Rams would battle back cutting the lead to four with ascore of 23-19. That early lead would prove to be too steep in the end as the Seawolves took home the set as well as the game with a score of 25-19

This strong performance from the Seawolves as well as player of the game, Dominique Gendron, means they have earned the right to play the STU Tommies in the semifinals.

This loss for the Dal Rams means an end to their season despite excellent play from their player of the game Callie Immerkar.
