The UNB Saint John Seawolves and University of King's College Blue Devils met in ACAA men's basketball action Saturday in Saint John.

Both teams were trading baskets at a rapid rate early in the game with Seawolves maintaining a slight 38-34 edge at the half. The Blue Devils persevered and forced the game into overtime and defeated the Seawolves 96-89.

Brendan Balcom had a game-high 25 points to lead the Blue Devils. Willian Colpitts wasn't far behind with 24 points. Jordan Dyck nabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for the winners.

The Seawolves scored more by committee. Keegan Gray led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Brother Hunter Gray checked in with 16 points and 8rebounds and Jacob Vickers added 15 points.

The Blue Devils improved their record to 3-12 which leaves them in seventh place just one game behind the sixth and final playoff spot. The Seawolves had hoped to put some daylight between them and the Blue Devils and move closer to .500 but instead dropped to 5-9. They remain in fifth place and hope to rebound when the teams meet again tomorrow in the second game of a weekend doubleheader.
