Seawolves defeat Tommies to advance to championship final!

The second men's ACAA semi-final of the day had the #2 ranked ST Thomas Tommies take on the UNB Saint John Seawolves.

The Tommies sustained the opening pressure but the best chance for UNBSJ came from a brilliant individual run by Malik Karoui as he picked up the ball from the halfway line to beat a couple of players pulled a shot just wide. That seemed to gain some confidence for the Seawolves as they began to settle the ball.

STU began to find success off the crosses into the box, creating a number of half chances.
The best chance of the half fell to #9 Ahmed Hafez after a brilliant cross from Elias Stiphout.

Halftime score was 0-0.

The second half saw STU begin to play with more intensity and controlled the play.
SJ weathered the storm and in the 75th minute the ball fell to striker Connor Silasak who smashed the ball into the top corner and out of the reach of the STU goalkeeper.

STU pressed for the equalizer and almost drew level but Nana Osei Bonsu hit the woodwork.

Mikael Rataich was steady in goal and had the shutout for the Seawolves.

Player of the game for the Tommies was captain Samuel Choiniere.
Player of the game for the Seawolves was Connor Sikasak.

The Seawolves will face the University of Kings College Blue Devils in the ACAA final Sunday October 26th at 3pm.
