Crandall Charges Past Mounties

Fans and viewers were treated to a very exciting ACAA men's semi-final game between the #2 seed Mount Allison Mounties vs. the #3 seed Crandall Chargers. Both teams came out of the gates playing high-intensity defense and fast paced play to make for a very exciting first quarter. While both teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter, Crandall made several key plays at the end of the quarter to go up 23-17. In the second quarter, Crandall increased their defensive intensity and made it very hard for the Mounties, who struggled to convert on their shots. Crandall's defense led to excellent offensive execution, where they led 46-29 at the half.

In the third quarter, Mount Allison worked hard to keep it close, where they made several small runs to chip away at the lead. For every punch the Mounties had, Crandall had a counter, where the kept their lead strong going into the fourth ahead 70-52. Crandall's strong defense was too much for the Mounties to overcome where they fell 90-75.

Leading scorer for the Mounties was Mack Chisolm, who led the way with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Crandall received another strong game from Brandon Fields, who led the way with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals.

Crandall will advance to the championship game versus Holland College, which will take place on March 4th at 3:30 pm.
