The second women's semi-final match was between the #2 seeded Mount Allison Mounties versus the #3 seeded Holland College Hurricanes. Both teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter, where Holland College played strong defense to edge the Mounties 18-16 after the first frame. The second quarter was played with a very similar pace, where both teams played tough defense and made it hard for either team to grab momentum. In the second quarter, Holland College made several key baskets to regain the lead, up 24-21 with 6 minutes left. Mount Allison finished the half strong, going on a 12-5 run to lead 33-29 heading into the second half.
Both teams continued to play hard defense, making it tough for either team to score in the second half. Mount Allison went on a run to finish the third quarter, where Erin Steeves hit a big three-pointer to go up 47-35 with 1:40 left in the quarter. Holland College's Ty'kella Beals answered by hitting a three at the buzzer to go into the fourth down 48-40. The Mounties surged in the fourth, where their great ball movement and their great defense allowed them to outscore the Hurricanes 17-4 in the final frame. After the final buzzer sounded, the Mount Allison Mounties took the win 65-44.
Leading scorer for Mount Allison was Erin Steeves who finished with 19 points and 2 rebounds. Jenna Macinnis was the leading scorer for the Hurricanes, whop finished with 14 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds.
The Mounties will advance to the gold-medal game, where they will face the #1 seeded MSVU Mystics on March 4 at 1 p.m.
